Go Blue Partner W.O.D. Saturday 4/7/18 – no skills class
Reminder!
Get ready for a 9am Saturday partner workout at CFR to raise awareness for child abuse and neglect. Greene County ranks number 1 in the state for child abuse and neglect. This is not something we want to be known for!
This WOD may look tough if you were to do it alone, but with a partner, it is possible! It truly illustrates what kids in foster care face.
We are asking all members to WEAR BLUE because that’s the color that represents child abuse and neglect.
Be there!
*Coaches – no skills class today
Go Blue Partner W.O.D. – no time cap
*Newer crossfitters or those who may need a specific scale due to amount of volume on the workout – talk with the coach and consider overscaling the movements with very light weight and simpler movements, yet still doing all of the reps… OR…completing 25 reps of each movement each round… OR complete the workout as written and set a goal of working for a certain time, such as stopping at 30 or 40 minutes no matter how far you are if needed, based on body awareness
In teams of 2, splitting the reps however needed…
5 rounds for time of…
50 Toes to Bar
50 Box Overs 24/20
50 Power Snatches 75/55
*After completing each movement, each athlete must complete 8 lunge steps with plate overhead 45/25
= 750 total reps
What these numbers represent…
5 rounds – number of times average child moves home during foster care
8 OH lunges – average age of child in foster care
750 reps – average number of abused and neglected children in care in Greene and Christian County
