CrossFit took me by surprise. About 1 1/2 years ago, my husband, Chris, decided to try an Intro to CrossFit class after seeing posts of the program on Facebook. He instantly became hooked and really wanted me to participate with him. I remember the excited look on his face as he was watching me drive in to do my first WOD at CFR. I understand now why he was so excited. He had found something he loved and was hoping I would love it with him. Well, that is where the surprise came in. In spite of being intimidated at first, I loved it, and I didn’t expect to. Although I considered myself an athlete with years of artistic roller and figure skating and running under my belt, I never thought I would feel comfortable lifting weights, swinging kettlebells, and walking on my hands.
After one year of WODs and competitions, I earned my Level-1 Trainer’s Certificate in September 2014. I am a firm believer in CrossFit. It is the best program that anyone can use to achieve their ultimate fitness potential. CrossFit will ALWAYS challenge you as it has me. At the age of 32, I am in the best shape of my life and still getting stronger. I have a great desire to share my new passion with others and welcome them into the wonderful community they will find in our box. CFR is my home away from home. Each athlete is unique and cared for and encouraged to reach their goals…and then go for more!
Faith and family are the most important aspects of my life. I do not know what I would do or who I would be without either one. I have 3 beautiful children that I have the privilege to care for at home. I also teach figure skating classes at MediaCom Ice Rink. I am so excited to work with the awesome CFR coaches team to help its members become their best!
