I was born and raised in Plainfield, CT. I played Varsity Football all four years and was a Captain by my senior year. My average abilities landed me on a Division III Football Team as an Inside Linebacker at Norwich University in Vermont where I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish in 2015. While at Norwich, I lost the love for football and decided to pursue a commission in the Marine Corps as an Officer. After achieving a 2 year scholarship with a contract for Officer Candidate School at the end of my sophomore year, I got back to doing what I love, which is playing sports, and walked-on to the Rugby team where I remained for my Junior and Senior Years. I played club hockey recreationally with some goons from Massachusetts and Canada as well.

After college and Officer school in Quantico, VA, I was selected to be an Infantry Officer. I spent the last 3 years in 29 Palms, CA where I deployed twice, once to Australia and once to Afghanistan. Yes, Lyndsey has been on this ride the whole entire time. I’m now the Officer Recruiter for all colleges from Columbia, MO to Fayetteville, AR.

I first tried “CrossFit” in college. My best friend and I decided to jump on the main page and found “Fran” 21-15-9 Thrusters and Pull Ups. I remember thinking two things: “What is a thruster?” and “That’s it?” After a solid PR of 30 minutes and 45 strict pull ups later, I reverted to my old ways of blitzing my chest and back with biceps on Fridays for the next 4 years while spending most of my time at the gym finding the right song for the next set. I even remember being offered to attend the Level 1 Cert Course for FREE and turning it down in college.

In August of 2017 while deployed in Queensland, Australia, my buddy asked me if I wanted to go into town and check out a CrossFit gym. I obliged and what ensued was the exact polar opposite response from my mind after attending that one class. From there on out I was hooked.

From the end of 2017 to the day I stepped into CFR, I have been battling myself mentally and physically through rigorous workouts provided by CompTrain. It was brutal and I can honestly say that the best part of my CrossFit journey thus far has been entering this gym and being welcomed into this family, because the word community doesn’t even do it justice. At the end of the day, this CrossFit thing has been fun for me, but what has always excited me the most is being able to make people better through relationship building and helping them achieve their goals. That is what means the most to me and I feel obligated to serve this family that has been so good to Lyndsey and me. Just happy to be here.
